Ryder System Class A Truck Driver CDL - Home Daily in WINDSOR, Connecticut
Position Description
Immediate opening for a SOLO Class A CDL Truck Driver and we want the right Trucker to join us at Ryder in Bloomfield, CT
We will buy your truck! If you’re looking to switch from Owner Operator to Company Driver, we can help make the switch even easier!
The weekly rate for this position ranges from $1000 to $1100, based on miles, stops, layovers, and other performance metrics.
Ryder Drivers are Paid Weekly
Solo Miles Pay: $0.74 per Mile with 1000 Miles per Week
Solo Stops Pay: $20.00 per Stop with 5 Stops per Week
NYC Premium Pay: $50.00 per NYC Stop
Sign On Bonus: Pays you $2750 at 30 days and $2750 at 90 days
Paid Training
Schedule: Friday – Monday / 4 Day Work Week
Start Time: 3:00PM
Trucks are three years or newer. Ryder Drivers Service the Route, not the Truck. All Drivers have 24/7 Roadside Maintenance by a Ryder Trained Technician plus Service Employees fuel up our trucks at all 800+ Maintenance Facilities.
Deliver SOLO To: New England Region - CT, NH, VT, RI, ME, MA and NY (Includes Manhattan, Long Island and Staten Island)
Route: Home Daily / 4 Day Work Week
Tractor Type: Day Cab
Trailer Type: 48' and 53' Reefer, Pups and 26' Straight Truck
Ryder will Train you on all equipment needed to be successful
Equipment: Electric/Manual Pallet Jack and Lift Gate
Freight: Tailgate Deliveries – Grocery Items

Requirements
Minimum 21 years of age
Pass a Ryder Drug Test
Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Pass a DOT physical
Pass a Ryder road test
Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
Important Note: Additional requirements may be required in different locations and/or accounts.
Responsibilities
Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs
Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
Performs other duties as assigned
