The Accounting Associate II Draft Desk - is an accounts payable positions that is responsible for providing financial and administrative support to all organizations. They will process payments, audit statements, issue credits in an accurate and timely manner.

Responsibilities :

  • Processing Ad Hoc check requests

  • Reviewing documentation for requests to ensure they meet audit controls

  • Entering supplier invoices for payment

  • Review and approve ad hoc requests enter by field

  • Review, research and resolve Accounts Payable tickets

  • Check figures, postings and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy and proper codes

  • Debit, credit and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software

  • Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

  • Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required

  • Provide back up as needed to other desks within the group

  • Actions pertaining to the 1099 process

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills

  • Detailed oriented with excellent follow-up practices

  • Extremely reliable, timely and consistent

  • Open to taking direction and coachable

  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)

  • Strong problem solving skills

Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma/GED required High School Degree or equivalent

  • One (1) year or more of experience in an Accounting Department and office setting in a large company required

Applicants from Colorado, New York. New Jersey, Connecticut and Washington State:

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $17 to $19 an hour.
