Job Description
Summary
Responsible for leading a team of technology professionals and driving the application strategy for a Ryder business unit/vertical application portfolio. This includes managing the product technology team in enabling innovative and competitive solutions for our business users and external customers. Also responsible for creating the application roadmap, developing the product strategy, and managing service delivery for the business unit/vertical's project portfolio. The Sr. Manager works closely with business partners and external customers to review features and functionality with a focus on continuous improvement for the entire technology portfolio.
Essential Functions
MANAGEMENT:• Provide leadership and direction for the business unity/vertical’s IT team being accountable for product performance, service delivery, and end-user satisfaction.• Daily management of technology staff and resources• Resource planning, scheduling, and forecasting• Provides high level management, coaching and mentoring to create an environment which encourages accountability and strong staff development; manage the hiring, training, motivating, and retaining of top talent in the IT field both on site and in remote distribution centers
SOLUTIONS DELIVERY:• Translates business needs and objectives into requirements and project estimates• Determines how product architecture fits and interacts within Ryder's overall business visions• Conducts program/project reviews to identify and address business requirement support issues or roadblocks• In collaboration with business unit management and other IT functional areas, assess feasibility, determine cost/benefits, prioritize projects, and develop and implement systems plans and solutions that address the information requirements of the business and adhere to established strategic business and systems objectives• Drive innovation and creative solutions to business challenges
PRODUCT STRATEGY AND COLLABORATION:• Collaborates with business partners, external customers, and other IT functional teams to develop and publish the product roadmap. The roadmap is the foundation for prioritization, resource planning, and investment• Participates with senior business partners in transforming strategic plans into high level IT initiatives; provide a vision for how technology can enable current and future business opportunities; manage and drive the corporate governance process• Provides input into the formulation of the company business system architecture plans, assessing the feasibility of system requests and ensuring the plans support both strategic and near-term business needs
Approves spending limit (ASL) management. Deliver to published expectations within approved spending limits. Timely processing of all invoices, accruals, and financial milestones
Interfaces with 3rd party vendors on a regular basis to ensure Ryder is receiving best in category service delivery at cost effective levels, always with an eye on cost reduction
Metrics management. Develop, communicate, and manage a comprehensive portfolio metrics package to presented to executive leadership

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required in IT management, supply chain management, computer science, engineering, accounting, business or related field
Ten (10) years or more Transportation/supply chain/ distribution management technology experience. Prefer experience in a 3PL/4PL environment,required
Five (5) years or more Across vertical industries and logistics best practices with a focus on transportation/supply chain/distribution management and execution, required
Five (5) years or more With scalable technology solutions that adjust to cyclical business patterns, required
Five (5) years or more In organizing, planning, and executing large-scale supply chain and logistics projects from vision through implementation, required
Five (5) years or more In managing technology teams in developing solutions for the business community, required
Advanced knowledge of industry transportation management technology solutions
Knowledge of industry technology trends, concepts and methodologies to include waterfall, Agile, DevOps, BI&A, analytics
Familiarity with various technology platforms.
Basic knowledge of both front-end, back-end technologies to include SQL Server, Oracle, Java, Cloud, No SQL db's, etc.
