The Senior Financial Analyst is a finance subject matter expert supporting a large sales organization in conveying the company’s value proposition to the market. This position offers a unique combination of ad hoc financial analysis (rather than scheduled/repetitive structure) along with use of strong communication and interpersonal skills in a team selling, customer facing environment.
The incumbent will be responsible for independently performing financial analysis from both internal and external resources and articulating/presenting the financial aspects and considerations when comparing Ryder’s products/services to competitive alternatives.
The individual will be deployed in sales opportunities to take the lead in financial discussions with decision makers of prospects and customers including TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) analysis and positioning.
The Analyst will leverage their financial expertise and provide the sales team with insight on industry based financial matters and discovery on specific target prospects in order to increase and ensure profitable sales opportunities.
Responsibilities also include providing consultative services and training to the sales team to help develop their ability to effectively communicate key financial considerations of the value proposition.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Primary responsibility will involve performing standard and custom financial analyses and preparing/delivering presentations of key issues to financial and non-financial audiences.
Answer questions from the sales team on financial matters and provide guidance and support in this area.
Present the financial benefits of Ryder solutions to decision makers in large and small companies.
Analyze the results of TCO analysis to enable the sales team to best represent Ryder’s value proposition in terms of cost savings and risk mitigation opportunities.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Business, or Sales.
Master's degree / MBA with 4+ years of Finance experience and some sales experience preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- Five (5) years or more experience
SKILLS
Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills .
Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to develop relationships with a large sales team.
Excellent analytical skills and methodical problem-solving skills.
Solid understanding and ability to analyze financial statements and cost analyses.
Solid ability to effectively articulate the financial elements of Ryder’s cost of ownership analysis in order to provide sound, profitable, and cost effective recommendations to customers/prospects.
Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
Detail oriented with excellent follow up practices.
KNOWLEDGE
In-depth knowledge of finance and financial concepts. Preferred understanding of sales process and positioning.
Demonstrated financial and mathematical competence with a strong understanding of key accounting concepts: revenue, variable expense and depreciation/interest and how these relate to and impact equipment pricing and sales.
Advanced level knowledge in MS Excel such as working with formulas, data tables, pivot charts, queries, custom functions, data management and analysis.; advanced level.
Advanced level knowledge in MS Power Point such as inserting charts, graphs & tables, customizing slide shows with hyperlinks, drawing and working with objects, speaker notes, meeting notes and advanced presentation features.; advanced level.
TRAVEL - 10% - 15% (remote otherwise)
Applicants from California, Colorado, New Jersey, New York City, and Washington - Salary is determined based on internal equity; internal salary ranges; market data/ranges; applicant’s skills; prior relevant experience; certain degrees or certifications, etc. The salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $100,000. Salaries may be supplemented with a bonus as applicable and/or as business conditions allow.
