Position Description

The Group Logistics Manager I is responsible for site operations that support both vehicle assembly and body shop locations. The position includes the management and improvement of services provided to an automotive customer, as well as the development and implementation of customer performance measurements. May assist with business development initiatives.

This position is responsible for leading, guiding, training and directing Senior Logistics Managers (SLMs), Logistics Managers (LMs), and Customer Logistics Managers (CLMs).

We are looking for someone who has had 10 years of leadership experience in a union, manufacturing environment, preferably automotive. He/she will have a thorough understanding of quality processes and standards and knowledge of Kitting, Sequencing and Sub-Assembly processes as well as an understanding of Industrial Engineering standards and experience with hourly and salary labor planning.

Responsibilities

  • Areas of responsibility will be warehousing, distribution, dedicated contract carriage (DCC) and carrier management

  • This will involve an area of the business that will manage gross revenues of approximately $130 million and net revenues of approximately $24 million, overseeing several locations and employees

  • The incumbent will maintain a positive employee relation climate and maintain a customer satisfaction index at a World Class Level

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in business, logistics or supply chain

  • Seven (7) years or more in relevant logistics and transportation experience with a major carrier, dedicated contract or shipper required

  • Six (6) years or more in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or industry related field required

  • Seven (7) years or more demonstrated experience in developing complete logistics product plans and their implementation required

  • Four (4) years or more supervisory experience required managing/leading direct reports required

  • Three (3) years or more in profit & loss required

  • One (1) year or more with customer interaction required

  • Seven (7) years or more demonstrated experience in developing and implementing complete logistics solutions and project management skills required

  • Two (2) years or more in sales required

  • Seven (7) years or more with multi-clients required
