  • Pay Type: Exempt / Salary paid Twice Per Month

  • Annual Salary Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year based on experience

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Summary

Position does not manage WHSE or Driver team members

The Supply Chain Operations Supervisor is responsible for the operational function(s) for assigned work group(s) in a Supply Chain Logistics operation. This position provides direct supervision for entry level professional or paraprofessional roles within SCS i.e. – Salaried non-exempt, hourly para –professional employees. This role ensures compliance with company and location policies, procedures and work instructions in order to provide a safe and productive work environment, optimum customer service and accurate records. This role may have customer specific related duties, systems, processes to support the operation.

May interact with carriers and/or the customer based on the complexity and scope of the account.

All work is subject to review by the location hierarchy and Ryder Corporate Process Owners such as Finance, Human Resources, Safety, etc. Error could result in customer dissatisfaction, loss of inventory, loss of profit, safety or security incident.

Essential Functions

  • Lead shift start up meeting to communicate daily/shift goal of facility and work group(s). Devise, communicate and implement plans to obtain operational goals. Work with and motivate employees to ensure goal achievement. Provide progress or constraint updates to management.

  • Participate in the Hiring process, train, cross-train and supervise hourly or SNE employees in the assigned work group(s).

  • Provide leadership for employees through in depth training and continuous review of employee understanding of policies, procedures and processes. Create a productive work environment through effective communication, coaching, motivating and leading by example.

  • Support and aid in the development of system and process training for employees in the work group(s). Perform administrative functions to include tracking of time, attendance and performance feedback.

  • Instruct and enforce location safety management plans, training and processes.

  • Identify and/or solve operational issues with the account(s) by implementing continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives, to strengthen team unity, goals, productivity and result which could include but not limited to business process deployment, KPIs, customer tracking and reporting, etc.

  • Assign employees to individual tasks and ensure required tools are available.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms with employees, peers and management

  • Strong organizational, follow-up and computer skills required

  • Ability to work self directed with minimal supervision

  • Ability to manage individual performance and employee relations

  • Ability to use sound judgement when information is incomplete or ambiguous

  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) intermediate preferred

  • Material Handling Equipment (MHE) depending on position intermediate required

  • OSHA required; DOT and Hazmat knowledge based on the account intermediate required

Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma/GED required

  • One (1) year or more in logistics, warehouse or industry related field required. required

  • One (1) year or more Previous supervisory experience preferred

  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) intermediate preferred

  • Material Handling Equipment (MHE) depending on position intermediate required

  • OSHA required; DOT and Hazmat knowledge based on the account intermediate required

Compensation Information :

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc.

Compensation ranges for the position are below:

Pay Type :

Salaried

Minimum Pay Range:

55000.00

Maximum Pay Range:

60000.00

The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.
