Grow your career with a company that shares your passion. Ryder is seeking a dynamic team-oriented individual to fill the role of Finance Manager . Under the responsibility of the Finance Director, the Finance Manager is responsible for supporting the Director of Customer Logistics (DCL) in all areas of accounting and financial management. This individual is also responsible for financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting and monthly / annual close process for one of our strategic accounts.

  • Responsible for internal month-end close process, including approval/preparation of journal vouchers and monthly/quarterly financial forecast

  • Oversee preparation of monthly client billing, including reporting on variances for controllable costs, non-controllable costs and other variances

  • Prepare month end report of all actual costs and service fees including:

  • Actual versus budget variances

  • Ongoing list of commitments for capital acquisitions

  • Tracking of change requests and spend vs. budgets

  • Prepare the budget each year for provision of services during the next contract year (reviewed monthly, based on information provided by the client related to throughput volume, controllable costs and non-controllable costs

  • Client facing and client interaction / presentations aspects of the job

  • Conducts annual performance appraisals and work to develop direct reports

  • Participate in various miscellaneous project, as required

  • Any other related duties as assigned

Growth and Development:

  • Accounting designation (CPA) with 5 years experience in an accounting environment.

  • Demonstrates expertise in financial processes, analysis, business planning, forecasting, and solutions driven

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Uses discretion and confidentiality, and is meticulous

  • Ability to adapt, work effectively under pressure, and meet established goals and objectives

  • Excellent skills in managing and organizing priorities

  • Works well with little supervision and with the broader team

  • Good analytical and problem solving skills

  • High degree of initiative and ability to work under minimal supervision

  • Advanced MS Office skills, proficient in Excel. Experience with other Financial/Cost systems.
