Ryder System Front Desk Clerk in Minster, Ohio

Position Description

We are hiring a Front Desk Clerk for our Minster, OH location!

M–F: 8:30AM – 5PM, $18.00 per hour

Position Description:

The Front Desk Clerk will handle a variety of tasks including administrative support to department staff.


  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 2 – 4 years past experience in an administrative role.

  • Strong written, organizational, and verbal communication skills

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

  • Performs work independently with minimal supervision. Work can be completed without established procedures.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information

  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors.)

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.


  • Answers phone, takes messages, answers routine inquiries, schedules appointments, meetings and keeps manager's calendar

  • Resolves routine issues in absence of manager. Coordinates special projects and analysis for manager.

  • Maintains expense reports.

  • Develops reports

  • Acts as interface with internal or external customers

  • Sorts, open and distributes mail.

  • Tracking/Restocking/ordering of office supplies

  • Types, designs correspondence, and memos

  • Maintains files for the department

This is a direct hire, full time position - no staffing agency involved.

  • High school diploma or equivalent One year of clerical or warehouse experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively using verbal and written methods Strong customer service skills are required

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) Knowledge of WMS preferred

  • Experience operating forklift equipment preferred


  • Coordinates activities with clerks from other floor areas, the customer and/or other suppliers as needed

  • Using the location's WMS system updates area or shift metrics as needed

  • Generates daily, weekly or monthly reports, memos, and summaries often of a technical and/or confidential nature

  • Floor work and additional duties as assigned

  • Performs basic administrative tasks for area or shift

  • Maintains filing systems and documents

  • Gathers from and provides information to floor employees in his/her area of support

  • Coordinates activities / meetings / communication for the specific area or shift
