*Position Description *

The  Analyst Fuel & Product Supply  position is responsible for the distribution of fuel, lubricants, and other related commodities across internal and external customer networks. Handle the vendor management, technical, financial and optimization analytics, customer service and contractual vendor payment responsibilities. Works directly with fuel vendors and third party carriers to ensure availability of products at Ryder facilities, managing fuel procurement, supply and delivery of fuel to Ryder facilities, especially during force majeure events. 


Commodities experience a plus. 

Essential Functions

  • Independently identifies and resolves problems pertaining to the procurement and delivery of petroleum products across all US internal & external customers sites (approx. 280 fuel terminals). Manage vendors across such markets to improve ratability,Ryder Energy Distribution Corp (REDCO)profitability, and compliance with contract requirements 

  • Researches and evaluates suppliers by developing and preparing bids, proposals and other informational requests. Works closely with Sr. Mgr in the request for price/quote & related fuel contract renewal process (create, distribute, collect, and analyze bid responses for the 220 million gallons of fuel purchased annually by REDCO as a fuel distributor and delivered to all 450 Ryder fueling locations, captivesites, and outside customer sites). Works closely with Sr. Mgr in the process of supplier selection, contract execution, account set up, and implements the change management process required to update all fuel haulers of new lifting account information. Negotiates with major oil carriers and suppliers of petroleum products and contracts to ensure optimal quality and timing of deliveries at the lowest cost. Works closely with the legaldepartment incraftingcontracts. Acts as subject matter expert for customer and industry presentations and pricing forecasts 

  • Support the Supervisor of REDCO Accounting with research & resolution of price discrepancies. Reconciles invoice to contract pricing within internal system to identify source of billing/pricing discrepancy. Works with IT to make sure correct product codes are being recognized and correct source index data is being used by us & supplier 

  • Conduct Bulk Fuel pricing strategies that minimize expense, maximize margins,risk reductions,and grow fuel volumes while maintaining market competitiveness and meeting customer demands. Continuously drive cost effective solutions around the bulk fuel product line 

  • As the subject matterexpertprovide guidance to Maintenance Directors & their staff and external customers alike on Ryder’s winterized portfolio of fuel products. Monitors weather patterns during the winter season and coordinates with our haulers the delivery of the proper winterized product type/blend that is available in a specific market. Instrumental in the prevention of vehicle shut downs related to insufficient fuel winter protection 

  • Manages fuel supplier and fuel hauler network nationwide in the coordination for delivery of fuel supply to all Ryder FMS fuel locations and outside customer facilities, especially during emergency and force majeure events. Serves as the liaison between the field operations, suppliers, carriers, and REDCO 

  • Monitors all Fixed Price customer accounts and keeps record of deliveries throughout the month to ensure customer abides to contractual commitment of gallons and that hauler pulls product ratability. Coordinates Fixed Pricing quotes and execution thereof upon customer request. Facilitates back-to-back agreements between Financial Instrument provider and REDCO and between REDCO and customer 

  • Works with Legal and Sr. Manager to recommend updates and to standardize supplier and customer contracts for the procurement and/or sale of fuel products. Manages the process of contract creation, execution performance and account set ups 

  • Conducts periodic audits to ensure control processesare followedper REDCO operations. Employs process improvement practices and techniques to analyze and create solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of systems, processes, and procedures 

  • Effectively facilitate and lead meetings, work and training sessions 

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree required Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering, or related field

  • Master's degree preferred Business, Finance, or related field

  • Four (4) years or more Purchasing, Sourcing or Supply Management required

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) advanced required

  • Tableau / MS Power BI intermediate preferred

  • SQL beginner preferred

  • Understanding of sourcing processes and events intermediate required

  • Other CPSM or other professional supply management or purchasing certificate
