Ryder System Legal Intern in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Legal Intern will support Ryder Internal Counsel group. The duration of this internship is between two and three months and is temporary in nature.

Requirements

  • Must have completed at least one (1) year of law school and must be working toward a degree in law

  • Intermediate level skills with MS Office General legal research, records management and converting existing documents to forms (if required)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to support multiple projects

  • Preference for experience showing leadership capabilities

  • Ability to display confidence in learning new systems and processes quickly and establishing a strong customer rapport

Responsibilities

  • Researching legal issues Assisting with due diligence projects

  • Drafting agreements Creating templates, annotated forms and agreements and automated survey tools

  • Creating and improving accessibility of online research tools (e.g., virtual library)

  • Drafting and publishing legal articles and other materials for our intranet sites and print publications

  • Assistance with special projects as needed Other duties as assigned

  • The intern will also be involved in aspects of the business including: Attending company meetings with business partners

  • Attending drafting and negotiation sessions Opportunities to gain exposure in other desired areas of law
