The Systems Engineering Architect develops and manages high-level technical design plans and implementation within the business driven delivery technical IT Operations architecture. This position also oversees Ryder's technology infrastructure foundation and its impact to the organization.
Aligns Infrastructure systems in partnership with Enterprise Architect with the organization’s IT strategy and ensure successful integration for new IT Services, whether on-premise, in our secure data centers, or in cloud PaaS/SaaS solutions.
Develop high-level planning, design, optimization, research, analysis, proposals, and solution delivery that align with the business and technology strategies within IT Operations.
Develop strategies and direction for systems and solutions that use current and emerging technologies
Translate business and application requirements into architecture or process designs for Operational support
Evaluate and recommend new products/tools and maintains knowledge of emerging technologies for enterprise operational production processing
Monitor systems performance/alerting, ensures capacity planning is performed and is proactive in assessing and providing recommendations for improvement and perform as an internal consultant, advocate, and change agent
Processes significant business and application knowledge with one or more concentrated areas of technical expertise for IT process in the areas of Operational Monitoring and Alerting.
Work across several business areas as a visionary to proactively assist in defining the direction of future projects to ensure Operational Health/Monitoring/Alerting.
Develop and maintains design plan for technical IT Operational architecture. Collaborate, define and maintain effective and efficient designs to optimize performance
Play a lead role in the evaluation of third-party software applications and components targeted for possible integration into the overall solution, including strategic applications, tools and utilities
Develops and owns the technology roadmap, which will provide direction, guidance and definition of enterprise’s architecture to effectively support the operational business strategy
Teaches others the technical and functional knowledge and skills needed to achieve results at the optimum level of performance
May perform a Primary role as Project Tech Leader for special enterprise-wide assignments
Provide advanced multi-disciplinary knowledge, skills and experience in technical architecture and design
Plan and recommend systems management, software and architecture
Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities

Bachelor's degree required in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Services, or related discipline
Ten (10) years or more relevant IT experience required
Ten (10) years or more experience working with Enterprise Architecture standards, processes & tools including IT Architecture standards, technology trends required
Ten (10) years or more experience in Information/Data Design, construction, Implementation and Maintenance required
Ten (10) years or more experience using analytical skills, tools and techniques to investigate information and to draw conclusions required
Ten (10) years or more proven experience in diagnosing, isolating/resolving complex issues, recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems required
Ten (10) years or more strong experience with systems integration processes, methodology and tools required
IT Infrastructure Systems Administration certification
