The Director Enterprise Program Delivery focuses on the human, organizational, and value stream aspects of IT/business processes and their transformation. This position directs department staff and activities to ensure effective and efficient utilization of resources and technology in order to meet the organization's transformation goals and run an effective Portfolio Management service. This position provides project management process, tools and support and overall FMS/CSS/SCS/DTS project portfolio quality assurance, communication and controls, and drives the organization to single (best practice) solutions. The Director Enterprise Program Delivery strives to deliver transformational change by standardizing & implementing portfolio management processes and technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overall responsibility for serving as the business functional to technical leader for assigned business units for the purpose of business/IT development (or implementation), solution discovery, risk management and relationship management; change management and process efficiency gains

  • Develop the PMO strategy and goals to define and maintain standards for the project management of key customer and implementation projects using Project Management Institute (PMI) guidelines, Quality standards and Company requirements to implement projects in a manner that introduces economies of repetition and meets the financial expectations established at the project initiation

  • Development, coaching, program assignment & resource management of project managers supporting the enterprise business teams. Assesses team bench strength, skill set and capacity in order to adjust resource plans as needed

  • Ensure proper alignment and planning for technology portfolio, resource availability to ensure success of key transformation programs; Maintains alignment with business leaders as needed.

  • Partner with business to ensure the development of an effective change management plan to support the rollout of applications and solutions. Partner with business to ensure stakeholder resource availability, alignment, buy-in, and communications planning

  • Provide regular leadership updates on the roadmap, execution, progress, and key risks facing the transformation portfolio; specifically focuses on change and process risks as they relate to successful transformation efforts and the portfolio

  • Partners with IT Process Excellence to develop, implement, and govern program management processes, tools, templates, policies, and metrics. Assess performance; research and develop new capabilities; and systemically apply learning and knowledge to the program.

  • Drive collection and reporting of project information with high accuracy and effectiveness. Design and build reports to provide project portfolio information to Ryder leadership and executive committees. Ensure there are regular reviews, accountability, and that management of projects, stakeholders and customers is in place

  • Support financials, budget and forecast management

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides guidance, direction and support on the Lean Portfolio Management process at the enterprise level regarding business strategic direction, vision, objectives, IT initiatives, resource planning, roadmap and quarterly planning sessions

  • Provide leadership and focus to Project Team members to ensure project focus is correct and work is accomplished on time, within budget, and is of the highest quality

  • Proactively shares knowledge of business risks and opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness across Ryder processes and systems

  • Responsible for the conduct and deliverables of Portfolio level meetings regarding, new Business Case reviews, Project health reviews, Risk Management reviews, etc.

  • Facilitate excellent customer relationship management and development capability

  • Identification of critical dependencies and develop knowledge materials to support the business and IT leadership in making educated decisions around project priorities.

  • Identify and implement opportunities for process and performance improvement

  • Support financial management of the supporting portfolios as needed to support the Project & Program Management

  • Lead, coach, and manage transformation team members and certain PMO transformation initiatives along with other key project team members as the team evolves

  • Identifies and solves problems using analysis, experience, and judgment; Ability to simplify complex situations and identify the critical few items to drive results

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or similar technical degree

Master's degree MBA or relevant advanced degree

Experience

  • Ten (10) years or more Experience within an IT and business environment in positions of progressing responsibility

  • Three (3) years or more Project Management Experience, including Agile Delivery Principles – Managing Large Projects, Portfolios or Product Teams - demonstrate project management and system development lifecycle best practices

  • Five (5) years or more Experience in business transformation and or change management

  • Three (3) years or more Demonstrated experience managing multi-million dollar budget to ensure effective controls on Demonstrated experience managing multi-million dollar budget to ensure effective controls on expenditures and compliance with accounting guidelines.

  • Five (5) years or more People management responsibilities in a matrixed environment

  • Five (5) years or more Process Improvement experience using Six Sigma principles. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to demonstrate collaborative working relationships with peers and foster the same with direct reports, and other business leads

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and presentation abilities

  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to key senior leadership

  • High level of personal accountability and motivation with the ability to drive these traits within a team

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, manage in a matrixed organization, manage priorities and meet deadlines

  • Proven record of influencing senior leaders to balance competing priorities

  • Experience in cloud and SaaS implementations; including legacy system integrations with custom solutions - Specifically experience implementing Workday Solutions
