Ryder System Business Analyst in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Business Analyst will provide financial and analytical support to FMS Senior Financial Management including compliance with union contracts, financial planning and analysis, month end closing and support of operational initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field

  • Four (4) years or more experience in Finance, Accounting or Operations

  • Ability to:

  • Effectively communicate with all levels of management

  • Think and plan in a proactive and innovative manner

  • Interpret contract language and develop processes for compliance

  • Must be skillful at problem solving, self motivated and able to prioritize work load

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

  • Motivated self-starter, able to work with minimal guidance when necessary

  • Strong interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to communicate complex financial / operational information to various levels to the organization, from Vice Presidents to shop Service Managers

  • Advanced skills and experience using MS Excel

  • Ability to use MS Office suite (intermediate level)

  • Experience evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting vast amounts of data, recommending solutions and implementing the preferred course of action (intermediate level)

  • Experience managing budgets and contracts (intermediate level) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Tracks, monitors, evaluates, and processes Union invoices and reconciles related accounts.

  • Completes data extraction or gathering from multiple sources such as an HRIS, spreadsheets, data warehouse or other sources where data may be stored for invoice reconciliation purposes.

  • Ensures compliance with Union contracts. Coordinates and/or participates in Union audits

  • Develops financial and operational reports on a monthly and ad hoc basis as requested.

  • Analyzes and interprets raw data sources and translates data into meaningful information (i.e. reports, presentations, etc.)

  • Supports month-end closing activities to include journal entries as necessary and explanations of variances versus forecast/plan

  • Identifies and implements strategies for efficient extraction/analysis/evaluation of data.

  • Identifies and recommends opportunities for process improvements and data driven solutions

  • Follow up with tracking, reporting and further recommendations

  • Performs other duties as assigned
