Ryder System Automation Manager in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Automation Manager is responsible for the identification, prioritization, delivery, and management of process automation across the enterprise. The position has responsibility for internal client requirements gathering to capture as-is process and map to-be process visions. It involves identifying any impediments to automation and conducting automation feasibility analysis, and documenting them for internal stakeholders. The Automation COE Manager is also responsible for producing keystroke level process maps, transitioning the process into delivery and bringing understanding of business process/robotics to support development, testing, and deployment.

Must have:

  • Experience with implementation of workflow or process automation

  • Training or experience with at least one RPA tool (UiPath, Blue Prism, Workfusion, Automation Anywhere, NICE, Pega robotics, Kapow)

  • Experience in solution design including requirements gathering, inputs, process, outputs, exception handling, analytics and monitoring.

Requirements

  • Master's degree Business, Operations, Engineering or Technology preferred

  • Bachelor's degree Business, Operations, Accounting, Engineering or Technology

  • Bachelor's degree Other Field + additional certification in Project Management, Six Sigma, or Lean; or other Operational Analysis training

  • Five (5) years or more experience in large Technology Deployments, Six Sigma / Lean projects, Leading Corporate Change Management initiatives preferred

  • Six (6) years or more experience in Technology Deployments, Exposure to Six Sigma / Lean projects, Operational Improvement Background, or Involved in Corporate Change Management initiatives

  • Demonstrates analytical skills

  • Ability to:

  • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)

  • Lead/manage others. Proven leadership skills

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) 1 1/2 Years preferred

  • Certified Product Owner (CSPO) 1 1/2 Years preferred

  • Business Process Management (BPM) 1 1/2 Years preferred

Responsibilities

  • Opportunity Discovery

  • Interface directly with internal clients to identify, document, and prioritize automation opportunities. Examples include:

  • Running workshops or side-by-sides with SMEs to understand end to end processes, identifying automation blockers and suitability of the process for automation

  • Understanding the risks, assumptions, and dependencies associated with the process

  • Presenting summaries of findings to leaders, technology partners, and client, walking them through to-be designs of automated processes

  • Requirement Gathering / Delivery

  • Work closely with development team to ensure requirements are accurately mapped and suitable for development. Track progress daily or weekly as appropriate, provide updates for sprint reviews and in-progress demonstrations to SME’s and leadership

  • Benefit Calculation

  • Calculate automation % and FTE benefit and build effort estimates for all processes. Ensure that prioritization considers expected benefit as well as effort & feasibility

  • Continuous Learning

  • Evaluate additional automation tools, best practices, and provides recommendations for additions or changes to the tool-kit, structure, and role of the COE. Responsible for continual research into external expertise to ensure Ryder becomes best-in-class in process efficiency, and use and application of automation

  • Robotic Workforce Leadership

  • Management of the Ryder robotic workforce, ensuring appropriate MIS on daily results is complete and accurate. Initial identification and triage of issues with any robots in production

  • Perform other duties as assigned
