The ASL Inventory Clerk is responsible for maintaining inventory for the pilot build material area, updating the warehouse inventory system and staying in regular communication with the customer. It is also responsible for assisting with engineering changes, TWO and PTR material.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain inventory controls of alternate storage location (ASL) (pilot) material by completing part counts and updating inventory control systems (MG & LCM)

  • Follow up on material shortages for inbound pilot build material and communicate results to the customer

  • Follow up on internal shortages from pilot kitting and communicate results to Ryder Supervisor

  • Track salable and non-salable material and communicate results to the customer

  • Process obsolete and scrap material

  • Monitor and process material in part investigation area and coordinate material moves with appropriate Ryder personnel

  • Perform material counts required by customer for ASL (pilot) and engineering part changes

  • Ensure pilot material has been moved to the appropriate physical area and visuals have been created for that material prior to the build

  • Run material exception reports from LCM and investigate any discrepancies

Additional Responsibilities

  • Fill in for Engineering Change Clerk when necessary: process engineering changes, coordinate temporary work order material and part trial run material shipping,

  • Fill in for liaison clerk at customer's location when necessary: report to the customer facility and follow up on customer issues/concerns.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment

  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills

  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices

  • Basic Data Entry and Computer skills intermediate required


  • H.S. diploma/GED required General H.S. subjects

  • One (1) year or more Warehouse or Inventory required

  • Basic Data Entry and Computer skills intermediate required
