Summary

Ryder is required to meet compliance with all requirements imposed by the Environmental Protection Agency as well as any state or local agencies. These regulations establish requirements for storage tanks compliance on both above ground and underground storage tank systems. The Fueling Operations Compliance Manager's primary functions will be to facilitate fuel facility compliance through the development and implementation of RFS policies, processes, and procedures. The incumbent is responsible to monitor and remain current regarding regulations and regulatory changes, outline any policy/procedural changes, advise regarding compliance plans and implementation, approaches etc. to maintain compliance, outline potential financial impacts, etc. of these changes, and minimize compliance risk to Ryder stakeholders. Additionally, define any area of non-compliance and work with team members toward correcting the situation.

Essential Functions

  • Manage Notice of violation process

  • Analyze data to identify key actions and resources needed to Ryder Fuel Services to achieve a pro-active role in maintaining storage tank compliance at client's facilities

  • Formulate and implement effective policies and procedures to improve compliance

  • Manage and implement compliance systems

  • Act as the liaison with the Federal Agents during government audits or investigations

  • Lead teams in the determination of how new and/or proposed compliance/regulation laws and issues (federal, state, local) will affect clients

  • Manage and train department employees in all areas of Compliance

  • Oversee management of client's Compliance testing program

  • Generate reports and provide actionable solutions when applicable

Additional Responsibilities

  • Heavy interface with clients, sub-contractors and regulatory agencies

  • Position may be required to work remotely. Position requires candidate to agree to and abide by Ryder Telecommuting and Permanent Remote Work Agreement(s) and Policies for the duration of the remote work period.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of governmental regulations, state and local, as it pertains to storage tank issues advanced required

  • Knowledge of MS Excel, such as freezing/unfreezing panes, hiding/unhiding data, setting print titles and page breaks, linking workbooks, creating external links, re- directing links, customizing toolbars & menus, protecting a worksheet, filtering options and chart formatting options intermediate required

  • Knowledge of MS Word intermediate required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Management or related field

  • Three (3) years or more industry related experience required

  • Three (3) years or more experience developing, implementing and evaluating effective internal policies, procedures and programs required

  • EPA regulations knowledge expert required

  • Knowledge of governmental regulations, state and local, as it pertains to storage tank issues advanced required

  • Knowledge of MS Excel, such as freezing/unfreezing panes, hiding/unhiding data, setting print titles and page breaks, linking workbooks, creating external links, re- directing links, customizing toolbars & menus, protecting a worksheet, filtering options and chart formatting options intermediate required

  • Knowledge of MS Word intermediate required
