The Maintenance Technician that is responsible for daily repairs and preventative maintenance to automated packaging lines. This position requires direct involvement with daily operations and future projects to assure activities support facility goals and objectives. Technician will be reporting to the maintenance supervisor.

Essential Functions

  • Ensures Ryder stays compliant with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety

  • Maintain, troubleshoot and perform repairs of commercial HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing equipment, etc. Safe and effective use of hand, power tools, volt and amp meters, and all various tools of the trade. Corrections and monitoring of BAS, (i.e. Trane Tracer and Lutron Systems) and accurate work order and/or CMMS completion

  • Leads and assigns work orders, and/or provides technical and procedural training of coworkers and subcontractors. Arranges for subcontractors as needed, reviewing work requests summarizing, pinpointing and correct recurrent operational problems

  • Oversees and inspects the work performed by maintenance staff. Determines that work is complete, equipment is fully functional and customer’s space is in prime working condition.

  • Formulates and implements a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life. Consults with contractors to schedule preventive maintenance and other downtime to minimize business interruption and inconvenience.

  • Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair. Maintains inventory of adequate supplies and tools and orders necessary materials to complete all tasks.

  • Vital member of Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity program, which ensures constant seamless business activity for the facility providing a consistent link throughout the enterprise

  • Perform moves, additions and changes of various furniture components to include systems furniture (cubicles).Painting, minor construction, etc. in commercial office facility

Additional Responsibilities

  • Manage sub-contractors of all building disciplines when Mgr. is not available

  • Position requires on call responsibilities after hours supporting building needs, emergencies, and activities

  • All other Facility duties included in a commercial office environment which may include minor grounds keeping, sprinkler repairs, etc.

  • Provide leadership for physical plant services of building infrastructure of areas such as electrical, UPS, generators, HVAC, plumbing, data/voice wiring and infrastructure management of major computer center

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

  • Must have the ability to work independently or as part of a team, utilizing advanced skills to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs of a commercial building, systems, equipment and grounds

  • Must be a critical thinker, demonstrating decision making and problem solving

  • Must be proficient in English (written and verbal)

Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma/GED required

  • Two (2) years or more must have experience in ensuring compliance with City, County, State ordinances and requirements. required

  • Two (2) years or more must be experienced with the safe and effective use of hand and power tools, volt and amp meters, air flow equipment, etc. required

  • HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing certification

Travel: 0-10%

2nd Shift: 3pm-11:30pm

Safety Sensitive

Non-Regulated Tech, Performs maintenance minor repairs in plumbing and electrical including 277 volt ballast replacement, troubleshooting.
