Ryder System ServiceNow IT Administrator in FORT WORTH, Texas

Position Description

The ServiceNow IT Administrator is responsible for administration and developing new code to enhance existing system configurations in support of Ryder IT processes and procedures. Perform troubleshooting, testing and debugging on the ServiceNow platform to resolve issues, answer technical questions and guide users to gain productive use of the ITSM system. Provide operational support for the ServiceNow platform.




  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work/military experience

  • Five (5) years or more of related software development experience in ITSM

  • Ability to:

  • Apply patches and updates to ensure applications are properly secured and up to date

  • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)

  • Develop enhancements and customizations in the ServiceNow platform

  • Integrate hardware and software systems

  • Provide recommendations for version upgrades and major revisions

  • Work independently and as member of a team

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment

  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills

  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices

  • Functional knowledge ServiceNow software modules supporting Service Management tools (e.g., Incident, Change, Release, Problem, Asset, Configuration) (intermediate level)

  • Requires demonstrated subject matter knowledge of the ServiceNow platform (advanced level)

  • Functional Knowledge of ITIL and DevOps (intermediate level)

  • Minimum level of Project Management knowledge (beginner level) preferred

  • ServiceNow Admin Training

  • ITIL v3 Certification preferred


  • Develop enhancements or system customizations in ServiceNow to support processes and procedures

  • Perform application upgrades including installing up to date patches and service packs to maintain the system to supported versions

  • Monitor operations and system performance of the ServiceNow platform

  • Extract and import foundational data as needed in support of ITSM application modules e.g. Incident, Change, Problem, CMDB, SRM and Asset

  • Perform thorough testing of code migrations prior and during moves into production environment. Must be able to develop and implement roll-back and backup plans

  • Work with network, server, and database support groups to troubleshoot difficult or complex production outages, slowdowns or bottlenecks

  • Manage high-level system access to the ServiceNow platform

  • Provide ITSM product support to users using the ServiceNow platform

  • Support business solutions with code development and enhancements in the ServiceNow platform

  • Maintain all environments DEV, TEST and Production running efficiently

  • Follow formal code development, migration and Change Management processes

  • Participate on larger projects as SME

  • Apply patches and updates to ensure applications are properly secured and up to date; ability to provide recommendations for version upgrades and major revisions

  • Perform other duties as assigned
