Summary

The National Sales Support Manager (NSSM) will be assigned to support the National Sales Group (DNA/DBD). In this role, the NSSM will have the responsibility for assisting the National Sales Group in providing support to resolve maintenance, operational, billing and customer satisfaction issues, and work with National Sales for a smooth transition of accounts from the DBDs' to the DNAs'. The job will require the assistance of development, implementation, execution of action plans to resolve maintenance/operational issues at the customer level. This position will work with the National Field Maintenance Managers/Directors on specific operational issues involving National Accounts. Provide hands on follow up with accounts that consume a tremendous amount of time regarding information requests. This position will also assist the National Sales Group in the retention and growth of key accounts. This position provides another level of support that is needed to effectively deliver our promise of quality service delivery and execution to our customers. This position will also support our National Sales Group in the area of account planning and communication activities.

Essential Functions

  • Assist National Sales Group (DBD/DNA) with resolution to maintenance/operational and rental issues

  • Follow up at customer level on campaigns, regeneration or maintenance/operational issues

  • Assist in the development , implementation and execution of action plans to resolve maintenance/operational issues at the customer level

  • Assist in the case of thermals, total of vehicles, lemon vehicles and catastrophic vehicle failures

  • Assist in providing QMIs’ for major National Accounts i.e.-customer budget analysis which includes re-billable expenses

  • Work with National Field Maintenance Managers/Directors on specific operational issues with accounts

  • Provide hands on follow up to accounts that are time consuming around informational requests

  • Assist National Sales with captive shop analysis for new business development in helping prospects understand budgetary expenses

  • Work on trend analysis on accounts to review specific maintenance/operational areas that would assist the company in future direction with the account, and increase margins and profitability of the account

  • Work closely with National Field Maintenance Managers/Directors and the Technical Support Group regarding campaigns and other maintenance operational issues

  • Work closely with the National Sales Group (DBD/DNA) on action plans for specific accounts that require follow up

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

  • Good sales acumen; understands prospecting and best way to approach the sales process

  • Good understanding of Ryder’s product offerings preferred

  • Individual must possess good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and skilled at problem solving

  • Ability to interpret financial data and represent the full spectrum of Ryder’s services to new and potential customers

  • Must be self-motivated

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in business and/or finance and accounting or equivalent experience

  • Five (5) years or more varied Ryder experience (preferably including 2 years Ryder field experience) required

  • Three (3) years or more direct customer interaction required
