SUMMARY

The Transportation Carrier Specialist is responsible for serving as the primary escalation point of contact for carriers. This position will ensure the carrier is getting the support needed and resolving issues. The Transportation Carrier Specialist will review and analyze the carrier performance scorecard and make recommendations to improve performance. This position will work internally with corresponding team and/or externally with the carrier directly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Review (Externally and Internally) Carrier Performance Metrics (Pick-Up, Delivery, Compliance, Billing, ED) to support TSPD Team, Operations Team, Leadership

Coordinate with Other departments - recommendations for Corrective measures, advocate for carriers and manage payment Inquiries and Issues Resolution (Coordinate with Internal Depts such as Procurement, Billing, Finance, & Ops)

Primary Contact and Communication Channel for a Deck of Carriers; ensure other groups within Carrier team is performing as required.

Carrier's Advocate within Ryder to resolve issues including projects, tasks

Review (Externally and Internally) Carrier Performance Metrics (Pick-Up, Delivery, Compliance, Billing, EDI - additional reports

Goal will to be to improve carrier ability to do business with Ryder more efficiently

Develop and Follow-Up Corrective Actions for Performance Metric Shortfalls

Sr Analyst may participate in the hiring, training of new analysts within the department. Analyst will provide required data and support for carriers in which Sr Analyst is responsible for.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree business, logistics, or related field of study or a minimum of 8 years relevant work experience.

EXPERIENCE

Two (2) years or more experience transportation operations experience including carrier management, transportation planning, project management and logistics analysis

SKILLS

Demonstrates analytical skills. Ability to handle and analyze large data files and respond with the customer in mind

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors).

Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.

Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.

Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices

KNOWLEDGE

Proficiency in MS Office Excel, Access and PowerPoint; advanced level.

Competency in statistical and/or transportation analysis tools; advanced level.

Knowledge of Ryder TM operating tools; advanced level.

Working knowledge of FBAP, TIS, ROL and TM systems; advanced level.
