The HR Business Partner for Central Support Services will drive human resources initiatives to help achieve their customer’s business objectives. This role will work in collaboration with Ryder’s internal customers, HR Communities of Expertise (COE), Employee Services, and other HR Business Partners to design, plan, and deliver high-quality human resources support for the company, in the areas of: coaching & counseling, employee engagement, HR program deployment, execution of talent programs, performance management, and workforce planning.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of the business and takes a consultative approach in anticipating, assessing, and providing effective HR solutions in support of business priorities
Provides consultation to Ryder’s internal customers by partnering on HR processes, procedures, and initiatives and integrating appropriate communities of expertise (COE) partners, as necessary
Implements and supports HR programs (e.g., merit, talent assessment, performance management, DE&I initiatives, employee engagement, etc.) and their dissemination through various communication channels
Provides guidance on driving performance and retaining talent
Enables resolution of complex performance management issues by providing appropriate counseling to leaders
Creates and supports an environment that focuses on coaching & development and on fostering an inclusive culture
Assists with key talent processes including performance calibrations, talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership development, in support of building and maintaining a strong bench strength
Runs and utilizes reports and talent dashboards that measure talent efforts and enable smart decisions by leveraging business data, metrics, and external market insights
Understands and presents ROI on strategies put into place on talent efforts and makes recommendations on needed changes
Acts as a change agent with a working knowledge of change management skills and abilities
Participates in special projects as assigned
Minimum of 5 years professional experience in progressively responsible roles
Experience and exposure to HR areas such as organization development, employee relations, talent acquisition, learning & development, and compensation
Proven ability to build strong relationships
Excellent consulting and conflict management skills
Strong use of judgment to identify and anticipate customer needs and make recommendations for implementation
Ability to effectively interact with all organizational levels and build trusted relationships
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data, identify trends and recommend multiple solutions
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; communicates with all levels of employees at Ryder, from front line to high level executive
Develops and delivers effective presentations
Strong organizational, motivational, coaching and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
Self-driven to excel in a matrixed, fast-paced environment
Basic knowledge and application of federal and state employment laws
Project management experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration or other related field
SHRM Professional Certification, preferred
