Ryder is seeking to recruit a well-rounded, experienced person for the position of Sr. Treasury Manager. The Ryder Treasury Department is a high profile corporate support group which has broad interaction across the Company. The Sr. Treasury Manager will report directly to the Sr. Assistant Treasurer. He/she will work closely with managers from several departments including legal, accounting, planning, pricing, operations, tax and shared services. Additionally, this individual will actively manage some of the external relationships with the financial community. The person recruited into this role will have the skill set necessary to move into an Assistant Treasurer role as a next step.

*HYBRID WORK FROM HOME: local to Miami/Broward area, within driving distance to our Miami HQ. *

Essential Functions

The Sr. Treasury Manager will have responsibilities for a broad spectrum of activities. Specific responsibilities will be based on the talents and experience that the person brings to the table.

Potential areas include:

  • U.S. public bond issuance (2 – 4 issues per year)

  • Bank term loan execution

  • Leasing transactions

  • Interest rate swaps ($650 million)

  • Share repurchase programs

  • Dividend policy

  • Global Revolving Credit Facility ($1.4 billion)

  • Debt compliance

  • Bank relationship management

  • Canada / Mexico treasury management

  • Rating agency support (S&P, Moody’s, Fitch, DBRS)

  • Cashflow forecasting

  • Interest expense forecasting / analysis

  • Cost of capital / capital structure analysis

  • Letters of credit ($280 million)

  • Pension Plan investment oversight ($2.1 billion)

  • Savings Plan investment oversight ($1.8 billion)

  • Board Finance Committee support

The Treasury department is recognized by senior management and the Board for the key role it plays in ensuring adequate liquidity sufficient to fund the base business and acquisition spending. The Department also establishes metrics related to capital structure and hurdle rates for investments / capital expenditures. In addition to day-to-day responsibilities, the Sr. Treasury Manager will also participate in cross-functional teams (recent examples include the implementation of Workday, a legal entity restructuring and acquisition analysis / integration).

Skills and Abilities

To execute the responsibilities of the position, this individual should have:

  • a deep understanding of U.S. capital markets including public bond issuance, syndicated bank debt, revolving credit facilities and lease financing

  • an ability to interpret financial terms and conditions to ensure compliance with debt agreements

  • the ability to interface independently with the external banking community as a Ryder representative

  • a strong understanding of financial concepts including net present value, discounted cash flow, WACC, etc.

  • although not an expert, he/she should have a sound understanding of tax, accounting and planning concepts

  • knowledge related to the funding / financial planning for Canadian and Mexican subsidiaries preferred

  • strong excel, word and PowerPoint skills


  • Master's of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in finance.

  • Five (5) years or more of direct line experience in corporate treasury roles with a public, investment-grade company that issues both public and private debt required.

  • Other advance designations such as a CFA, CPA or CTP preferred.
