Ryder System Senior Director, Labor & Employee Relations in DALLAS, Texas

Position Description

The Senior Director, Labor & Employee Relations will be responsible for developing custom solutions and products for labor and employee relations within multiple geographic areas. Draws on expertise from Operations, Sales, Logistics and the Area HR Generalist Team for implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Behavior or Labor Relations

  • JD degree preferred

  • Fifteen (15) years experience in senior level Human Resources management

  • First chair labor negotiation experience, preferably in the logistics, transportation or manufacturing sectors

  • Experience in developing and maintaining strong positive employee relations environments

  • Experience in business process improvement and business consulting

Responsibilities

  • Achieving Labor, Operations and Company goals within stated budgetary guidelines with no disruption to business operations

  • Developing a win-win business relationship with employees, customers, and unions

  • Experience as team lead in responding to union organizing activity, pre-petition and post-petition

  • Negotiating contracts that are in alignment with Company objectives

  • Participating in all facets of the business to optimize start-up team actions and plans

  • Designing and delivering training to managers and supervisors in order to maintain a non-union working environment or to maintain a high performing organization in a labor environment

  • Perform other duties as assigned
