Ryder System Customer Logistics Supervisor in CITY OF INDUSTRY, California

Position Description

The Customer Logistics Supervisor provides operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce to achieve overall performance goals for productivity, cost, quality, of a dedicated on site white glove home delivery service.

Responsibilities:

  • Engagement with the customers, client and drivers to ensure proper communication is distributed for successful completion of deliveries in the established time frame

  • Scan badges to verify carriers are compliant and in uniform

  • Support and help drivers if they have any questions

  • Verify all drivers have picked up their routes

  • Confirm all the trucks are up to standard

  • Interact daily with onsite clients to ensure understanding of existing and emerging customer needs

  • Build a strong rapport with the client on site

  • Monitor calls and be prepared to de-escalate

  • Undertake efforts to help ensure that the relationship with the carriers is respected and maintained

Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, typically 4:00am-2:00pm, varies with volume, flexibility required

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required

  • Experience with DOT, OSHA, and all related safety regulations required

  • Minimum of 6 (six) months supervisory experience required

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-3 Years of experience in a transportation, warehouse or distribution environment preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Preferred

  • Knowledge/Experience in transportation environment, (i.e. Shipping, receiving and inventory management, distribution or dispatch) preferred

  • Knowledge of warehouse and or software applications, routing and dispatch software systems preferred

  • Customer satisfaction/problem resolution

  • Ensure functional area meets all productivity goals and objectives
