The Benefits Business Partner provides administrative, technical, and consultative support of a responsible and confidential nature for the retirement, health & welfare, voluntary and other benefit plans which contribute to accomplishing Ryder's goals and objectives. Needs to have Workday experience in Benefits/Payroll and Reporting in order to perform the Benefits Administrator and Benefits Partner role. Will work closely with HRIS and Payroll departments to support the Benefits Department. Must have in-depth reporting and analysis experience as this role requires a large volume of work related to monitoring multiple inbound and outbound files, data verification and audit requirements.
This individual is responsible for answering employee benefit/retirement questions and other daily activities pertaining to the retirement and benefits plan, and works with Accounting, vendors, and others to resolve discrepancies, concerns, and difficulties with the administration of the plan. S/he assists with the annual benefit enrollments, orientation, and employee benefit communications and serves as a coach, resource and mentor to junior benefit personnel.
Oversees and performs administrative and record-keeping tasks related to benefits and qualified retirement plans. Ensures accurate enrollment of participants, smooth processing of claims, flawless and correct weekly file feeds, timely compliance (nondiscrimination) testing, and accurate administrative and record-keeping services from vendors and Ryder's benefits department. Contributes to the compliance with IRS and DOL regulations.
Audits benefits and retirement plans on a regular basis by researching service data, eligibility, and other data pertaining to different plan provisions, applies statistical techniques, reports to management, and finds solutions to correct problems.
Provides and coordinates employee communication regarding benefit and retirement programs. Answers complex employee questions and helps to resolve them. Instructs and trains internal and external staff on all administrative procedures. Conducts annual benefit enrollment meetings, and informational seminars throughout the year. Serves as a coach and mentor to junior and related personnel.
Ensures effective and efficient implementation of new programs, vendors, systems, and/or operating procedures. Works closely with benefits management team and consultants on determining plan design and benefit cost management.
Provides support to project teams by leading, participating in projects, identifying issues and escalating as appropriate, recommending solutions, maintaining project schedules, schedule meetings, provide status updates, and/or other aspects of project work.
Determines department objectives and establishes administrative procedures.

Bachelor's degree required in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Human Resources or related field. In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree
Five (5) years or more Retirement and Benefits Administration experience required
