Summary

The Intermodal Operations Manager will lead, mentor, and develop a team of Intermodal Operations Associates for Ryder Freight Brokerage. This individual will assist in driving of organic growth within the Intermodal carrier and customer portfolio. The Intermodal Operations Team will be comprised of Intermodal Operations Associates. Additionally, the Intermodal Operations Manager will work with the Intermodal Solutions Manager, Pricing & Procurement, organizational sales representatives, and account managers at all levels to help convert new opportunities from outside prospects as opportunities arise. The Intermodal Operations Manager will report to the Intermodal Solutions Manager.

Essential Functions

  • Supervises and mentor Intermodal Operations team.

  • Handle escalation issues with carriers and operations executives.

  • Assist in onboarding and training of new Intermodal Operations Executives.

  • Responsible for driving carrier engagement and fostering good carrier relationships.

  • Will handle coaching of understanding of Intermodal charges and rate reconciliation.

  • Work collaboratively with Enterprise Solutions Team as well as Network Branch Managers to build solutions to add value to prospects supply chain.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High level problem solving.

Skills and Abilities

  • Must be a fluent communicator in person, telephone, and e-mail.

  • Taking role must not violate a non-compete/solicit agreement.

  • Must be coachable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Transportation/Logistics, Preferred.

  • 5 years or more in intermodal operations experience, Required.

  • 5 years or more in previously held a leadership role in Transportation/Logistics, Preferred.

  • Fluent in Microsoft Office products. Advanced, Required.

Compensation Information :

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc.

Compensation ranges for the position are below:

Pay Type :

Salaried

Minimum Pay Range:

$90,000

Maximum Pay Range:

$95,000

The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.
