Summary

The Environmental Services Compliance Supervisor is responsible to perform management support, analysis and reporting necessary to assure compliance with Ryder environmental policies in supply chain services, including warehousing and crossdocking operations. This role will also be responsible for assisting with environmental components for real estate reviews. As needed for new or modifications in supply chain operations, perform research and review of federal, state and location regulations.

This role will report to the Senior Manager of Environmental Services, and will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project life cycle beginning with customer RFP issuance through steady-state operations. This role will possess deep understanding of the customer and operational needs that govern warehouse and crossdocking operations, with a special emphasis on hazardous materials storage, and thus be positioned to develop and put in place the right environmental controls to reduce risk and improve environmental compliance.

Essential Functions

  • Performs environmental due diligence assessments for new supply chain opportunities, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders from RFP issuance through “Go Live” necessary to assure compliance with Ryder environmental policies, customer environmental requirements, and all applicable local, state and federal regulations.

  • Perform real estate reviews including ordering online reporting, reviewing online databases and reviewing leases and related documents.

  • Stays current with local, state and federal environmental regulations impacting Ryder and related to stationary emissions as well as waste and hazmat management programs to develop and put in place the right environmental controls that reduce risk and improve environmental compliance.

  • Provides day-to-day compliance support to warehouse and cross-docking facilities in steady-state, including performing routine facility audits and coordinates/leads response to external environmental audits (customers, regulatory agencies).

  • Develop and implement environmental training tools to meet the facilities start-up and on-going training requirements for waste management, spill response, regulatory reporting, and others, as required.

  • Manages and maintains supply chain compliance program and facility environmental records (permits, reports, training records, plans, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required Environmental Science or 5 years related environmental experience with regulatory, corporate, consulting, finance or transportation setting.

  • Master's degree preferred Environmental Science or related field

  • Five (5) years or more Progressively responsible position in the environmental field with emphasis in a large corporation setting required

  • Five (5) years or more Familiarity with Environmental Laws impacting the transportation industry required

  • Five (5) years or more Experience with regulatory agency or consulting firm in the environmental area required

  • Knowledge of Environmental Laws impacting the transportation and logistics industry intermediate required

Salary is determined based on internal equity; internal salary ranges; market

data/ranges; applicant’s skills; prior relevant experience; certain degrees or

certifications, etc. The salary for this position ranges from $70K to $90K
