Ryder System Compliance Customer Exception Lead Associate II in ALPHARETTA, Georgia

Position Description

The Compliance Customer Exception Lead Associate II will work with Department Associates, Miami Fuel Tax Department and Ryder customers to resolve trip record exceptions. Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of tax documents processed through the Customer Exception queue.


  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required

  • Minimum of 2 (two) years of previous work experience

  • Minimum of 2 (two) years of trip records edit experience

  • Experiemce and knowledge of IFT tax reporting requirements

  • Experience with FIS, IFT mainframe system (includes running reports), Ryder Imaging system, and PC miler

  • Intermediate level skills with MS Excel such as freezing/unfreezing panes, hiding/unhiding data, setting print titles & page breaks, linking workbooks, creating external links, re-directing links, customizing toolbars & menus, protecting a worksheet, filtering options, and chart formatting options

  • Intermediate level skills with MS Word such as including styles, mail merge, tabs, tables, columns and breaks, graphics, fields, headers and footers, working with margins, page orientation, and spelling/grammar

  • Intermediate level skills with MS Windows such working with windows and its components, desktop, taskbar, start menu, minimize/maximize/close function, drag/drop, copy/paste, rename, delete, recycle bin, and my computer


  • High school diploma plus occupational specific training beyond high school or an AA degree preferred

  • Attention to detail, good communication and problem solving skills

  • The ability to resolve complex problems requiring the use of basic scientific, mathematical or technical principles and in-depth, experienced-based knowledge

  • The ability to draft and edit the content of business and technical documents

  • The ability to exercise considerable independent judgment


  • Resolve issues sent to the SSC customer exception escalation queue Research, edit and complete missing trip record information

  • Edit and match customer fuel statements to trip record information

  • Analyze editing errors and missing fuel documentation in order to make a decision to call customers to attempt to train and problem solve fuel tax reporting issues

  • Training Work with customer exception associates and other Compliance Department Leads to reinforce training

  • Assist Team Leader with special projects such as setting goals for associates

  • Monitor customer exception queue and distribute and schedule work accordingly

  • Perform quality control audits on assigned associates

  • Analyze the information system needs of computers users, analyze data to identify trends and relationships, administer complex employee benefit programs, edit and rewrite complex reports, assign and follow up on the work of unit employees etc.

  • Conduct formal training/orientation sessions for employees, handle and resolve unusual customer complaints, assign work to other employees, or perform other duties requiring comparable level of communication skills
