Ryder System Material Handler II - 3rd Shift - Sanitation in Greenville, Wisconsin
Employees in this job perform a variety of janitorial and custodial tasks to maintain a clean and safe building and grounds. The employee performs a full range of janitorial assignments using limited judgment. Actions are normally determined by specific instructions from the supervisor or by following procedures, methods, and practices.
Cleans the exterior areas of the building, including windows, walkways, and emptying trash containers and receptacles per sanitation schedule
Wipes down racks, guard rails, and walls in the warehouse and office areas per sanitation schedule
Additional duties as assigned, overtime as needed
Maintains a safe, clean, and tour ready facility
Clean, damp wipe and sanitize all tables and counters in the break room.
Clean interior of microwaves in the break room.
Mop the floor in the break-room.
Clean sinks, urinals, toilets and mop floor in restrooms.
Spot clean and resupply restrooms and break room area.
Empty all trash containers from production, break room and restrooms.
Sweep and wet mop all walk ways.
Operate floor scrubber throughout distribution center.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum of two years of related warehouse and powered industrial lift experience required
Ability to read, do basic mathematics, understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for the purposes of safety, work instructions, policies, etc.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
Ability to input data into computer system
Work overtime as assigned
Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions
Recognize and correct potential process errors before actions adversely affect the customer
Recognize damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action when discovered.
Pull orders accurately as assigned
Stage orders according to carrier location and verify: number of pallets picked as well as stage location
Prepare receiving, storage and shipping documentation retaining product accountability throughout the logistical process
Be aware of and follow location and work center Safety and Security policies and procedures
May be required to train others in various warehouse functions, including the safe operation of various powered industrial lift equipmen, perform housekeeping duties and other duties as assigned
Operate fork-lift equipment or other warehouse machinery
