Position Description:

The VP Divisional CIO is responsible for all of the IT solutions for the Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) & Dedicated Transportation Solutions (DTS) divisions, overseeing 150 employees and 150+ contractors internationally, over US, Mexico, Canada and Asia. He/She is responsible to guide the full solution life cycle for warehousing, transportation, and communications, including web/mobile technologies. They will manage an annual budget of approximately $40mm and provide strategic thought leadership for moving into next generation IT and IT applications that will enable our business to work more efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field

  • Master's degree MBA of MS in a technical field preferred

  • Fifteen (15) years or more experience in progressively responsible positions within an information technology and business environment

  • Ten (10) years or more leadership experience - recruit, train, develop, and promote professionals, including management of team lead and manager level positions

  • Seven (7) years or more leadership experience in a senior leadership capacity, preferably in SaaS environment

  • Five (5) years or more specific experience with SOA, integration technologies and mobility services. Proven implementation of Agile, DevOps, test driven development or other continuous / rapid IT development strategies

  • Effective leadership skills; Comfortable making operational decisions, monitoring progress, and reporting results in a fast paced environment

Responsibilities:

  • Provides visible strategic leadership across business lines, acting in a consultative fashion with other business leads with the goal of improving business unit efficiency and effectiveness

  • Partners with the CIO to provide insight to best practices to drive intra-IT, and business and IT collaboration

  • Partners with business vertical leaders to identify and develop IT products and solutions to support individual and collective vertical needs

  • Provides leadership through prioritization based on vision and goals. Leads capital planning & budget management at a strategic level

  • Advise leadership and/or business executives at the highest levels about the project portfolio, status, and resource planning for delivering strategic business initiatives

  • Updates IT improvement initiatives and progress against baseline, benchmarks, and leading service management, audit/controls, and capability maturity models

  • In close partnership with the CIO, guides SCS & DTS IT activities to include strategic planning, customer facing activities and sales support, continuous improvement and application standards development and governance

  • Participates in IT strategy development and continuous IT innovation and improvement objectives

  • Communicates the company's technology strategy to management, staff, partners, customers, and stakeholders

  • Drives strategic alliances with business partners with the goal of enhancing the competitive position of the SCS & DTS IT business units

  • Identifies technology trends that may support or impede the success of the business

  • Creates and fosters an environment to deliver innovative solutions, leveraging advanced development, analytic, and collaboration platforms

  • Performs other duties as assigned
