Position Description:

The role of the Strategic Outside Repair Manager is to provide leadership and development that ensures standardization and optimization of vendor relationships related to contract compliance, service level standards and outsourced service processes. Ensure internal and external customer and Ryder satisfaction across US and Canada.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or it's equivalent in Ryder/Maintenance management experience

  • 10+ years of extensive Ryder, Maintenance, and leadership experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong leadership, communication skills and negotiation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence and persuade others (internal and external)

  • Excellent knowledge of RCRC specifications and applications

  • Receptive to change Change Agent

  • Must possess strong organizational and delegation skills

  • Knowledge of sales process

  • Working knowledge of maintenance accounting and P&L

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Proficient in all Microsoft office applications

  • Experience with SMO and other maintenance and financial software/systems

Responsibilities:

Primary functions of the position are:

  • Support, communicate and implement all corporate initiatives that apply to approximately 5,000 outside vendors per area for Ryder

  • Ensure support and participation of team members which include field maintenance and direct reports as Maintenance representatives in all aspects of the corporate outside service negotiation processes

  • Support, communicate and ensures compliance with all corporate mandated policies, procedures and processes that apply to outside repair vendors

  • Measure, track and perform data analysis to ensure process of financial and customer satisfaction objectives are met

  • Accountable for key outside service measurements and results across US and Canada

  • Accountable for all vendor costs and controls across US and Canada

  • Supports Ryder locations in all aspects of Ryder maintenance and vendor management as subject matter expert

  • Provides leadership, support, guidance and direction for Sales Personnel

  • Ensures that agreed upon customer requirements are achieved and that satisfaction objectives are met

  • This role is liaison for Ryder in maintaining on-going customer relationship, problem resolution and in the sales process

  • Support, visit and build relationship with time critical national account customer key contacts

  • Support, communicate and coach compliance of all Ryder locations with the corporately mandated policies of Quality Customer Care Process (11.10 in Ryder Maintenance Manual)
