Position Description:

This position is responsible for developing and leading a Dedicated Transportation Services Hub, focused on balancing the highest level of customer service to our operators while creating continued efficiency gains for DTS. The Hub’s goal is to be able to execute payroll, billing & dispatch , as well as other services, at a higher quality and lower cost than a field operation would be able to do by itself. The Hub Manageris responsible for all hiring decisions and creating a team focused on customer service and standard leader work. The Hub manager is responsible for using Lean practices to identify where there is opportunity for improvement or reduction of work. A strong Hub manager will deal well with ambiguity and be able to work across teams to problem solve and drive outcomes. The person should be able to influence others to enable operational efficiencies. Finally, the Hub manager needs to be detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage hub staff

A leader who has previous experience:

  • 5-6 years of experience in managing and leading team

  • Customer relations and complaint/issue resolution

  • 2-3 years of operational experience

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Logistics or Transportation or 8 (eight) years of combined college and/or relevant equivalent work experience is required

  • Minimum of 2 (two) years of supervisory experience required

  • Experience with warehouse and or software applications, routing and dispatch software systems required

  • Experience with ground transportation operations including DOT, OSHA and all related safety regulations

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills preferred

  • 3-5 years of experience in a transportation, warehouse or distribution environment preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring flawless execution and adherence to pre-established customer critical success factors

  • Management of all areas of transportation to include safety, transportation, DOT regulation, compliance, P and L responsibility, distribution and customer service

  • Management of assigned direct reports to include employee relation issues, performance management, new employee training and development
